I recall that when I was little kid, my father created a magical winter scene out of a shoe box. We looked into the box through a hole at one end and light came in from a hole at the other end. In between was a snow scene made from cotton wool and material, with trees made from twigs and bits of greenery.
That was brought to mind when I came across the art of French artist Anastassia Elias, who uses cutouts in toilet rolls and backlighting to create whimsical images of life.
