A country singer in the US has checked herself into rehab after butchering the US national anthem in a performance that drew widespread criticism.
Ingrid Andress has said she was drunk while singing The Star-Spangled Banner before a baseball game in Texas on Monday night. Her singing was widely panned and drew gasps from the crowd after one particularly shaky high note.
“I’m not gonna bullshit y’all, I was drunk last night,” she wrote on social media.
“I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I’ll let y’all know how rehab is. I hear it’s super fun.”
Many viewers said it was the worst version of The Star-Spangled Banner they’d heard.

So why am I posting this, especially in the Quote for the Day section?
Whilst driving I heard the above news item on Jonesy and Amanda’ breakfast radio show where they mentioned a great comment left by a viewer
Following the wounding of Donald Trump and then this horrific rendition of the anthem, the message left was:
“It’s not easy being an ear in America.”
