Golda Meir (1898 – 1978)
was an Israeli teacher,
stateswoman, politician and the world's fourth and Israel's first and only
woman to hold the office of Prime Minister.
She has been described as the "Iron Lady" of Israeli politics,
the term later applied to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and Indian
Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
