I have previously written about the Bloemencorso (meaning Flower Parade) flower festival in Zundert, Holland, which takes place on the first Sunday of September each year. Since 1936 floats decorated with dahlias, all made by volunteers, have been astonishing and delighting observers. This year was no exception.
(And a big "Goededag" to Dianne M in Holland, who used to live in Oz).
Gallery:
The dahlias, the beauty, brings to mind a poem . . .
There once was a man from Australia
Who painted his arse like a dahlia.
The color was fine,
And the likeness, sublime,
But the aroma, alas, was a failure.
