Good morning readers.
I have received about a dozen emails, all saying that the Quote for the Day item should be retained.
One contributor suggested "Keep.. But rename it 'Platitude of the Day'." Given that the dictionary definition of a 'platitude' is 'a trite, meaningless, or prosaic statement, generally directed at quelling social, emotional, or cognitive unease', I will decline that proposal.
Thank you to those who took the time to respond.
A selection:
From Tim B:
Keep the quotes.......I live by them......and duct tape...I’m from the South (USA).
From Charlie Z:
Otto -I enjoy the quotes, and everything about bytes! "If it ain't broke don't try to fix it!"
From Charles X:
If it's not too much work, I think you should keep the daily sayings, Otto.
From Diane M:
Yes,please keep the quote for the day, it’s interesting and sometimes so surprising to know that a person said that.
From J G:
Otto, please keep the quote for the day. I frequently circulate them to my team. Like you, I am a lawyer; the chief legal officer of a good-sized company with a team of 14 lawyers and about the same number of compliance and other staff.
Thanks, jg
So the ayes have it, the the QFTD stays.
