15 Old US Pics

As readers know, I am fascinated with photographs of the past. (Someone will say that every photograph is of the past 1 second later). As a departure from local old pics and in recognition of the large contingent of American subscribers and readers of this blog, today’s post is of old US pics. . .

1940’s, the original McDonalds in San Bernadino, California, established by brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald. Their business partner ray Kroc later purchased their interest and went on to establish the McDonalds empire.

1923, original Hollywood sign.
The sign was erected in 1923 as an advertisement for a new housing development in the hills above the Hollywood district. The sign flashed in parts – Holly, Wood, Land – and then flashed the whole word.
