Just loved the sculpture byte; particularly the elephants-there was a fabulous sculpture of an elephant made entirely from discarded computers/parts at Sculpture by the Sea several years ago. The idea of creating art from the detritus of every day life has a real appeal for me.

An elephant sculpture outside the waste minimisation learning centre at the Waitakere Transfer Station, Auckland NZ. Some are better than others

Recycled plastic bottles 

Elephant sculptures created by UniquEco, a body established to reduce the waste materials accumulated on the beaches and to create employment for teenagers and Kenyan women. Over 150 people are employed in Unique Eco, the sculptures (not just elephants) being created from thongs (flip flops) collected from the beaches.
